Robyn Avril Hightman, born September 19, 1998, in Charlottesville, Virginia, was killed in New York City on June 24, 2019 while working as a bike courier. Robyn’s passion in the last years of their life was cycling, but they were an artist, a musician, a friend, someone with a genuine desire to help others and make the world around them brighter. Robyn was a light of hope, energy, and love to those who knew them. Our hope is to keep Robyn’s light shining — to keep their blinker going — by serving the causes they believed in. We also wish to help make the roads safer for cyclists, pedestrians, and drivers so that someday no one will have to endure the pain caused by traffic violence.
